Coach House Riding School is ABRS-approved and provides horse riding lessons for children of 5 years and over, and adults of any age. Lessons are run in groups or, if you prefer, individually (all new riders have a private assessment lesson).
The riding school has two all-weather floodlit outdoor schools and offer a variety of lessons, including class and private. Class lessons usually have a maximum of 6 clients per group.
We have a lovely selection of about 16 well-mannered, forward-going horses and ponies, ranging in age, size, experience and ability, to suit the individual rider.
The Coach House Riding School is owned by Linda Porter-Cohen who had a successful competition career in show jumping and eventing and competed at several major national events, including Wembley and White City. She was a team member of the Worlington Riding Club who won the Riding Club event at the National Riding Club Championships. Linda founded this club in the sixties when she moved to Newmarket and found that no riding club existed in the area.
The Coach House Riding School is an accredited training and exam centre for the ABRS and has trained many successful candidates for its examinations.
All our friendly instructors are fully qualified and very experienced and have the highest regard for our clients’ safety. Whether an adult, child, novice or an experienced rider, you will be taught competently and to the highest standard.
We teach progressive riding, working towards the Progressive Riding Tests and encourage all riders to learn stable management and the understanding of different equine behaviour, producing ‘rounded’ riders who are in harmony with our horses.
As well as weekly riding lessons, we hold courses, fundays and host Open Days. For more information on these, visit the events section.
The Cambridgeshire Journal has produced a very interesting and informative article about Coach House Riding School. We also have a short introductory video that will help you to see what we have to offer.
